Sharks At The Lake (3 of 3) - June 17-19, 2005 |
Anyway, on to the pics... ...Back to Page 1 ...Back to Page 2 I didn't take a ton of pics while driving... of those I took many didn't come out due to motion or aiming issues. Here's what I ended up with though... These next three pics should give an idea of what the drive was like for the southward leg, around the east shore of the lake. Ignore the MBZ... he was just in the way. On the way we passed one of the tour wagon trains... Looks like a great way to take up an afternoon... ... but we had other things in mind... like... for example... SPEED! Until the road narrowed down, of course... We stopped to admire the views in Emerald Bay, which I'm told shines like an emerald when the light is just right(not this day, but it was gorgeous!)). Another composition of the same scene... Keith and Jennifer were already posing for a pic so I snapped one for myself... Thanks for not blinking! After leaving Emerald Bay we went on up to Tim & Cheryl's house... here we are being coaxed into parking in an orderly fashion. Fortunately there was plenty of room to park. Next year we may have to stack 'em if attendance skyrockets... The house itsef is really beautiful... It's a multi-level, built on a steep slope... Just walking in is relaxing though.... deck & BBQ up & to the right, main entrance ahead... Some of us gathered to watch the F1... er... >cough< >cough< "race"... Plenty of wine on the sideboard for those that wanted it... The ladies at work in the impressive kitchen... I think this says it all... Of course, if you're going to get snowed in you need an exercise room... ...and a wine cellar... ...and then some... ...and then some more! The wine cellar was awesome... really well laid out, and I really like how the rock that they couldn't get out when building ended up being a very unique element in the decor! Here is the game room.... people-eating chairs in front of the big screen, a pool table, video games... nope, no boredom here... The neighbor's houses are also built on multiple levels. At one time this must have been extremely rugged terrain. Here's another last look at the sharks en masse... I love these stone stairs that lead from the parking area down to the game room... Sara snapped a pic of me... remember what I said about the photographer having no pics of himself? Well, thanks for the help, Sara! So after a fabulous weekend... By the way, thanks again Tim & Cheryl, for showing us around your stomping grounds and for opening up your gorgeous home to us... we had to start home. Bill Swift, Nicole, and Mel & his wife and myself caravanned together. We were caught in a traffic break for several miles on highway 80, plus we stopped for gas -- so others who left after we did caught up to us down around Sacramento. But here are some pix of the scenery on the way home on 80. Now, obviously this next pic is not the dashboard of my 1978 5 speed. But it came to me out of the blue so to speak.... a little bird told me it might have had something to do with our trip home but I have no proof. All I know is it looks like fun... Again, thanks to Tim and Cheryl and all who sponsored or assisted! I hope this gets to be a regular event, because if it does I will definitely rate it a "Must Attend". ...Back to Page 1 ...Back to Page 2 |
