Here is a picture of the car from the back. One of the reasons I
like the Carrera 2 S over a standard 993 is the wide body look. Ever
since I saw a picture of a Porsche 911 Turbo, better known as the 930,
I knew deep down that one day I will own one of these cars. The Porsche
911 is a more practical super car than say a Ferrari. I like Porsche
for their legendary handling and their unique styling. Do you know
that the profile of the Porsche 911 is the most recognizable sports car
shape world wide?. A normally aspirated Porsche 911 is not the strongest
in term of raw power as compared to a Corvette, but it will hold its own
on curvy roads. Straight line performance of a Porsche is up
there with most of production sports cars, but people buy Porsche not for
their brute force, however. A Porschephile enjoys their cars by listen
to the sound of the engine. The sound of the air-cooled flat six
engine is very different. It has a unique sound that is unlike any
other cars out there. Too bad that Porsche decided to redesign the
new 911, known as the 996, with water-cooled engine in 1999 (US).

My Carrera 2 S's engine displacement is 3.6 liters. It produces 282
HP, with 250 lbs/ft of torque, and a 6 speed manual transmission.
From the picture, the Varioram intake can be seen easily. It responsible
for about 12 HP increase from 1995 model year 993. On the right of
the engine, next to the Varioram script on the intake, is the Sound Package
air intake chrome velocity stack opening. The air box on this option
makes the exhaust note during hard acceleration sound mean but not too
loud. Once at cruising speed, the exhaust note is barely noticeable
with windows up.
