A LITTLE HISTORY

It was about 1973 in San Diego, California; when I had my first experience with a 914. A friend of mine took me for a ride in His 914, up in the hills around San Diego, it was a great ride. I really fell in love with the 914. The family went from a twosome to a threesome; so a 914 was not a practical car at that time.

It was about 1987 when I got the chance to buy my first 914 in Seattle, Washington.. It was a 1974 2L, black, it had a few problems , but it was fun to work on. It sure made me feel good when I fixed something and it actual work right. Well! Everything was really working great with the 914, But on February 1989, in Oak Harbor, Washington; there was a bad freeze. On the way into town I hit a patch of Black-Ice. I thought I had it under control, but it seemed like it just slipped right out from under me. I hit a bank and started to roll. It seemed like I rolled about 5 or 6 times, luckly I had my seat belt on. The car was totaled. Boy! was my oldest son pissed. He was more concerned about the car than if I was alright.

It was about July 1992 when I bought my second 914 in Seattle again. This 914 is what this Web Site is all about. You will see pictures of the metamorphosis on the Project pages. There is not much more to say about this 914. I will let this Web Site tell the rest.
