Sharktoberfest 2004 (1 of 3) - Oct 22-24, 2004

Sharktoberfest 2004 was a fantastic time, good food, great company, lovely sharks.

Thanks to everyone, organizers and participants alike, for making this such an incredible event. Keith, Dan, Mark, Carl, Jim, etc. etc. Thank you folks especially. Keith has thanked contributors in more detail here and I'd like to echo those sentiments.

Anyway, on to the pics...

When I arrived at 928 International to pick up some misc. parts I had ordered I noticed a couple of cars that look like they are on their way to the parts shelves, so I thought I'd snap a pic while they are all in one piece...

Closer to the front door the cars jump up several notches in condition... That's mine on the left... I was afraid to pull into a stall, as I might start seeing parts of it on the shelves if I turned my back too long.

The 928 Int'l Parts runner is just too cool for words.... It's surprising how little cutting was required to make this happen.

Very interesting profile... a bit of a "Brat", but with a big S(4) on its chest....

The tailgate was very nicely integrated...

Plenty of room for all but the biggest body parts. Not visible, there are tie-down loops welded in each corner.

From the front, it looks much like any other shark in similar(excellent) condition...

Mark Anderson's car, along with a couple stray sharks...

Of course Mark's car always merits a closer look...

Quick & dirty filler mod...

We were put up at Joe Fan's Hotel, where the accomodations were outstanding. We had a roped-off shark pen with round the clock security tasked solely with watching our sharks.

A look under Tony Harkin's hood... that thing is a work of art!

Another view:

Tony's interior... nice A-pillar gauge set(928 Motorsports I believe), plus Tony has an array of other gauges... but what really caught my eye....

...was this shark! Very nice touch!

A peek under Rob(Blown Beast)'s hood

And inside the cockpit

Joe Fan's race car.

Welcome to 928 International... We have everything for your shark. Exhaust manifolds, suspension arms, fenders, hoods, we've got you covered.

We have engines too... oh, you didn't want extra crispy?

Well, we have lots of the original recipe...

We have plenty that are so nice we even keep them indoors.

If you just want heads or cams, we've got you covered.

How about a transaxle? Eenie, meenie, miney moe...

How about a torque tube? No that one's not for sale, we have too much fun showing it to customers.

Mark had a couple of Porsche bicycles parked inside. I forgot to ask if they had three-digit designations that start with "9"...

I remember talking to someone about how strange this bumper seam looked, but I don't remember the story...

With so many sharks around, there's always a gorgeous car to take a pic of nearby...

I found another serious ocean predator in the shark tank. While I like the early Barracudas a lot, and this is an especially well-kept or well-restored(more likely) example, I prefer the 'Cudas. Still this is one very nice machine.

Behind the wheel: All Business.

Natch, with all these 928 parts at our fingertips, there was some light wrenching, folks making lists and checking them twice...

An overview of the back lot. There were a few odd(and odder) vehicles mixed in, but that's still a lot of sharks!

Sharks, sharks, and more sharks...
