Pacific Northwest 928 Dyno Day
Today it's about the cars

Usually it's About the People
But today it's definitely about the cars. You may see the occasional face in these photos, but clearly I was focused on the cars themselves. We didn't think to get a full group picture of the people involved, but other folks made sure to get shots of drivers about to mash the pedal down as well as speedo shots. A nice bunch of folks.

2-pedal Dyno Runs
A note about the automatics on the dyno: We ran the automatics in 'D' starting at 40 mph. (The 5-speeds also started at 40 mph in 5th gear.) It appears that all but two of the automatics dropped to 2nd gear and held until red line or cut-off. Chris' and Oscar's cars ran through 2-3-4 during their runs as one would expect on the road.

I don't know why this didn't occur in the other A/T's (mine included) and haven't had an opportunity yet to test this behavior on real pavement.

I'm not yet ready to label this a problem as other interesting "failures" occurred while on the dyno, at least according to dashboard lights: antilock, differential, and speedometer shutdown.
