Pacific Northwest 928 Dyno Day
The Lineup

In Order of Appearance
My apologies if I missed getting a picture of anyone's car. It was difficult at times to get good shots in the garage even with the flash; some just aren't very good photos. Enjoy. -

Adam's Black '88 S4 A/T. A very good looking car. Okay, they all were.
Tom's Black '87 S4 A/T. Adam's & Tom's cars were difficult to distinguish by major features, even down to the placement of the model insignia.
Rob's Prussian Blue '85 S A/T, yet another wonderful color. The plates read HIVLCTY.
This is my grandprixweiss '87 S4 A/T. In the excitement I forgot to wrangle someone into taking a video of my own car. I'll have to settle for a daily roar in the tunnel on my morning commute.

Numbers at the rear wheel? 243 hp, 246 ft/lbs torque. That reading of 256 hp turned out to be a glitch, to the right of cut-off.

Mark's '88 S4 5-speed with some nice 993 take-offs for wheels. Nice color, too.
This is the thunder shark, a '90 GT. You have to hear it in person to get the full effect of the exhaust that Louis built. Louis had an hour of dyno time scheduled and had a hatch full of goodies to aid his testing.

Points of interest for me: the run with the K&N air filter was a few horses short of the run with the stock air filter; and replacing the ribbed air intake with smooth wasn't much of a gain with 5 liters. YMMV.

Sadly, the GT got indigestion after lunch and rode home on a flatbed truck. Apparently Louis has been working on the car since the first of the year and just got it running the day before.

Duane & Dawn's car raised a few eyebrows as it arrived. It has interesting mixed-model visual cues due to a mishap from behind. They didn't run the car on the dyno but made for some enjoyable conversion. Duane is the Membership Chairman for the PCA/PNWR.
Chris brought his '91 S4 A/T in from Spokane, apparently a long, dirty trip. I think the car is actually black. :) The 2-3-4 run in the video is considerably longer than the 4 seconds or so most of the automatics took on their run.
This is Nick's '88 S4 5-speed, another very nice car. Good numbers again.
This is Tom's other shark, and '87, which had the distinction of being the only one to send us all ducking for cover. :) Tom lost part of a tire on this run.
This is Lloyd's '91 GT, Marine Blue. Another very nice car that posted some very nice numbers.
Oscar's '81 A/T is Chiffon White with leather interior. The interior and engine look as new. The photo of the car in the street shows the color the best.
Andy's '81 Euro 5-speed has the dubious distinction of being the most recently in an accident. But it sure sounds strong.
Other Links: Chris has stats and some good video posted on his site at www.928s4.com.
