More cylinders, of course.
The donor heart waiting for a body.
Now, on to the fun stuff,
the engine is a 2.4 that started life in a 911T. I acquired it from
Nick Cole and got a little bit wild on it. It has new 9.8:1
pistons fromMotormeister.
Roy and Lee also honed the cylinders and supplied the new carb jets and
venturis, E cams, gaskets, valve guides and seals, recurved distributor,
and advice.
More advice, parts, and the valve work came from Gene Kirschner at
Autohaus here in NJ.
I ported the heads myself with a burr from Eastwood,
and some instructions from Roy and Lee.
Headers are MSDS ceramic
coated 1-5/8 ID.
They are mated to a Bursch muffler I picked up at the Hershey swap
meet.
The motor mout is the Rich Johnson mount from All914.com.
The ignition is an MSD 6AL
from Jeg's.
The fiberglass sheet metal and flywheel as well as all the other parts
that I forgot I would need until I did came from Pelican.
Tom at Pelican also worked long and hard trying to find and ship me
a good, solid 914 to put the motor in. Ultimately,
I found Tim and Feurig before Tom found a suitable
chassis and transport.
