- "...I'm telling you Jim, that V-8 will cause your center of gravity
to be this high!"
- "By cracky, I been foolin' with 914 since you were this high."
- "I'm getting my watch up outta' yer BS"
- "If you laid on your back, you'd still be this tall."
- " ...So me and Clem got tired of digging and just rolled that horse
into the hole. Well it weren't deep enough and its legs stuck up,
bout this far outta the ground, so we just nailed a sheet of plywood
to its hooves and called it a picnic table"
- "The last guy that did one of those Chebby conversions took off
like a plane, never to be seen again!"
- "Jim is not sure what to make of Mike's invisible yo-yo method
of corner balancing..."

"Like any master craftsman, J.P. stands behind his work." |

"Eric's
pumped-up autocrosser from the side. Notice where pulling the rear fender
out has left a gap behind the door. The lower edge of the fender is also
displaced a bit upwards, but it's not terribly obvious." - Jim Boemler |
"The
fenders of a regular 914 as God intended they be. Owner Eric pulled these
out about an inch and a half using a Porta-Power, but they haven't had
any more body work done yet (they do need some touch-up, but look decent
as-is). Note how far the lower edge of the rear fender is pulled out,
and that the fiberglass valence has had plastic surgery to make it match.
The whole process leaves the 914 looking a bit more muscular, but at first
look it's not obvious why. The tires are 245/45-16 Kumhos both front and
rear, on 8" Fuchs." - Jim Boemler |

"Philip Haun and his beautiful hybrid. This one's powered
by a Buick V6, and the car has distinguishing touches throughout. Notice
the 944-style front bumper (sorry, NLA), wing, and functional MR-2-style
air scoops behind the doors. Another great touch is that the windshield
is mounted in rubber, like any number of more modern cars -- the chrome
pieces are gone. That one touch makes the car 15 years younger-looking.
Talking to Philip (left) is Eric (sorry, I didn't get his last name),
the owner of the silver autocrosser just behind him." - Jim Boemler |

"The
general view, at a less-than-busy time. Earlier in the day there were
several more 914's in the driveway and up to 20 people milling around."
- Jim Boemler
