Road America 5/26-28/2000
Chicago Region PCA DE

For the first time the Memorial Day event has been extended from 2 days to 3 days. Friday was for novices and instructors only, which means that everyone had lots of track time, especially because the weather was very good. Saturday and Sunday were not as good because it rained for at least half of each day. But we had lots of fun anyways during the dry periods. The people with street tires had even more fun.

Turn-in after hard braking into turn 5. Oh-oh, that GT1 is bearing down amazingly fast.
And he went by just about as fast up the hill to turn 6.

Paul Wible in turn 6 with his 1992 968 Firehawk with Tony's 1995 968 Firehawk behind him. The red and yellow cars are twins. Both cars were built for Hawk Motorsports (Lloyd Hawkins) by Rennsport (Dennis Boada). The red car won the 1994 Firehawk championship while being driven by David Murry (see www.davidmurry.com). The yellow car was the backup car. The red car has the original Firehawk graphics.
