Gearbox inside
Some pictures I took before I broke my ring and pinion.......
 

Input shaft below,.Output shaft (pinion) above. Reverse gear and synchro to the right.
This is Olaf also known as Nasenmann("nose man"). He's in a happy mood despite of the conditions he was faced to work in (my garage). This car owner (me) had been forced by Nasenmann to do the no-brain work like cleaning the gearbox parts for instance. According to Nasenmann, my cleaning efforts were not sufficient at all. Probably a lack of motivitation.
Reverse gear in housing. The diff carrier with the ring outside that I broke13000miles later.
Behind the pinion you can see a bearing that causes the turbine like sound if worn. This unit only has to be connected to the left side of the big housing (picture to the right).
