Sharks At The Lake - June 13-15, 2008

Once again, Tim and Cheryl Dey, Directional Media Services and other sponsors as well as Cal Neva Resort put on a first-class event for us sharkaholics.

Here I'm clowning around with Gerry... "Hey, move over, this is supposed to be a beauty shot!" Not many pics from the reception this time -- again I was too busy talking to the great folks that attended, and the camera sat idle much of the time.

Here we are at the Saturday morning pre-funride drivers meeting. We are given a route map and a verbal overview of the route. Of course we all need to be reminded that this is not a race, etc.

Off we go... somehow I ended up right behind Tim, with a great view of his 200mph "Beast" with its "I brake for Corvettes" bumper sticker. I love the smell of race fuel in the morning!

We were having a great time, until we suddenly had to pull off in a too-small turnout.

Tim was having some trouble with his car.

IIRC, it turned out to be a problem wih the brain(The car's, not Tim's. )

Ron S. found a great Shark shirt in Morro Bay. I want one!

Here we are at Saturday's first "scheduled" stop...

Stretching our legs, socializing, snapping pics...

My camera battery died so I didn't get pics at the dinner, but it was a great time, the usual shenanigans with Tahoe trivia and raffle prizes, and a contest at the gaming tables. Sunday we packed up and left for our trip clockwise around the lake to end at Alpine Meadows. Below is the first scheduled stop on the Sunday drive.

A tighter shot at the same location.

We made our usual stop at Emerald Bay.

This is an inspiring view, I never get tired of it.

The lake is like an amazing jewel peeking through the trees.

Unfortunately, parking at Emerald Bay is at a premium, but we always manage.

Lunch at Tim & Cheryl's house. They are great hosts, and this is one of my favorite parts of the weekend. Left to Right, Debbie and Ron S., Debra, Cheryl.

Left to right, Sara, Gerry, Matt, and Anne Saunders.

I always hate to leave Tahoe and my friends, but leave we did, with memories of a fabulous time. Tim and Cheryl always put on a fantastic event, and I look forward to see how they intend to outdo themselves for the 5th event.
