Suspension Upgrades to my 1987 911

I have wanted to upgrade the rear sway bar on my 911 for several years, as I track the car 10-12 days a year as an instructor for several of the local car clubs. On advice from several members of the local Porsche Club, I decided that a 22 mm bar would be a good upgrade. After looking around at several different manfuacturers, I decided to order this tubular bar from Paragon Products. This piece is developed by Tarett Products and is a work of art. All parts are well built and seemingly very strong.
As you can see, the bar itself has a square end that the bar ends fit on to. They are clamped by a bolt that goes through where the slit is on the bar end. The top of the drop link actually replaces the off center bolt on the swing arm with another off center nut that has a hole through it. The attaching bolt goes through this to attach the drop link to the swing arm, and still allow adjustment. The lower point of the drop link attaches through the adjustment slot using the supplied bolts.
This show the collars that secure keep the bar from moving back and forth. Also you can see the inside of the drop link attachment. Eveything lined up correctly and was quite easy to install. And it looks quite good also.
Taken from almost the middle of the car, this shows the final installation of the entire bar.
Since I was ordering suspension stuff, I also decided to get one of these bump steer kits. Since the car had been lowered, but no other bump steer kit installed (the shop said that I didn't need them, I think they just didn't want to do that work!). After reading articles and talking with some folks, this seemed like a good product. The installation was quite easy, using a picklefork to separate the tie rod end (kinda destroys the seal in the process), I just unscrewed the old tire rod end and installed this one. I made a guess as to the location of it, but the car will go in for an alignment soon to make sure all is right.
This is the strut bar that I installed several years ago, but this seemed like a good page to put the photo. It is a Racing Dynamics bar and seems to have done it's job. And it looks pretty good also. Installation was fairly easy as I recall, just unbolting the 3 bolts at the top of the strut housing and installing the mounting plate. Then put the bar in and tighten all the bolts back up.
