I wanted to get the mechanicals in good shape before I started the re-paint.

This is how she looked as I got her.  Not bad, but needed some attention.

Bumbers, glass and hood taken off. As I get more time, I'll take off the fenders and doors so they can all be preped for painting.

Here's my oil cooler installation I did this spring. I got a package deal from THE RACERS GROUP while they were in town for the PCA club race. They were real hepful and supplied me with every thing I needed.

Even though my car is a 76 (supposed to be galvanized through out) it is an early 76 and has a lot of non galvanized panels (if any). It's got textbook examples of P'car rust, under the window seals f&r, and the hood seal over the bumper.

The middle photo also shows bad repair work I have to fix from a PO who didn't fix a bad hood latch. The hood flew up and dented the cowl below the windshield. I think he took it to Earl Schibe due to the number of holes drilled and the 1/8"+ of bondo smoothing it out. A little carful work with a hammer and dolly got it pretty smooth. I still need to weld up the holes.

Here are before and after photos of the battery area of my car. Big difference without the baking soda and rust. It's painted with POR15 and then PPG enamel.

Here are the new tank and rebuilt "A" arms that I'll be putting back in the car. I sealed, rust proofed, and re-undercoated the tank, and sandblasted, painted and put new bushings on the "A" arms.

I'll take suggestions if I'm missing something on the change in tank.

Next step, getting the car ready for paint.
