Blaupunkt Bamberg Radio

The radio delivered with my car was a Blaupunkt Bamberg. It is an intersting radio because of its complex functions. At some time the original was removed and a generic Kenwood was installed. However, to get collector plates for my car I needed to re-install the original. That turned out to be a struggle - there are not many around. But I have managed to source one and to install it in the car. I looked at the original sales brochure (found one at Wilkinsons) and used the photograph as a model for location of the special station saver.

It is interesting to note that this radio, option 389 Porsche CR Stereo, was standard on the Turbo and an option on the 911S. I also have option 461 which is the 4 speakers and the electric antena but I cannot find anyone who knows about the fader control for the front/rear speakers (unless there wasn't one).

Here is a shot of the radio from the back seat.

And a shot of the special memory selector attached on the console. That's the microphone in the consle along with the AC controls. The factory diagram shows the internal workings of this system.

And, finally, a shot of the whole set-up.
