Oil Cooler Fan Track Trick

This is a simple DIY procedure that forces the oil cooler fan to run on high when the car is running.  It will not allow the fan run without the ignition on thus it does not cause any battery problems.
This is really a great tip for when we take our cars to the track.  By simply unplugging a connector on top of the oil cooler accessed from the removed passenger headlight, the fan will be forced to run on high speed.  The benefits are obvious - especially on those hot summer track days.
You will definately want to do this when the car is cool, and obviously before, not after a track session.

The procedure is simple.  Remove the passenger headlight by releasing the lever from inside the trunk area according to the owners manual instructions.

The pictures on the right are taken with the headlight removed.  There is a metal clip on the back of the plug that must be pushed in as you pull the plug apart.

That's it!  Click on the picture to see the detail at full size.
