Ken Coburn, Michael Rothenberg, Mark Hald, and myself at Lime Rock.
Michael finished adjusting his shift linkage while we were waiting for
the gate to open that morning. That's Ken's black SC in the
background. He's the fast one in the bunch.
Michael and Mark putting Michael's transmission
back together. Much later when Michael had transmission troubles Mark said
he couldn't be blamed as he didn't help put it together. I pulled out this
picture and said "The photographic record shows..." (The later tranny
trouble had nothing to do with the rebuild best we could tell.)
Ken Coburn upgrading his torsion bars (black car). On the right
is my Carrera. Looks like I'm in the process of replacing my bumperettes.
If you look closely at the left bumperette you can see a nice "stripe"
where it has rubbed against something. The stripe looks white in this picture
but it's actually Watkin's Glen Armco Blue. A friend of mine applied that
bit of color by spinning into the armco at Watkins Glen. I razzed him when
he came in afterwards. I told him "I can't believe you stalled it!". It
turns out he didn't stall it till he went to take off after coming to a
stop. Said his clutch leg was kinda twitchy...
