1986 PORSCHE 928

Ode to the 928

What sleeps in my garage
is no ordinary mirage
It awaits my recurring desire
the turn of a key, the power of fire
The rumble with cause
to tempt nature's laws
A big smile from the sound
which speaks to those around
I could sit night and day
and listen to it play.....

But what good is that
when there is so much more
The movement of the stick
and the pedal to the floor
The direction of the course
and control of the force
The will to make small
all others, they crawl.

Oh, but the joy
of owning this toy
A madman's obsession
is seen in his expression
From the parts to the whole
it is built like a song
A symphony on wheels
the conductor rides along
When I'm finished from the flight
I return it for the night
and pause, amazed with awe
from the sensation of the BWWAAAAAHH!!!
