17-in Wheel fitment

Assuming the wheel has the Porsche bolt hole pattern, the offset of the wheel is important. Typically, if the wheel's offset is in the 52mm - 55 mm range, the wheel will fit. If greater offset, then spacers will be required to bring the offset back into range. Some very wide wheels sometimes  have slightly lower offset, to 47mm.  One popular upgrade for 964 owners are Boxster 17" wheels.

If the 964 is a 1989-1991, in order to fit 17" wheels, the steering stop limiter spacers will have to be upgraded to the 1992 and later 10mm spacers (part number 964.347.325.02). The original spacers are 6mm. There may also be some front body clearance issues, which were addressed in a dealer bulletin.
