- Always wanted a 911, and was looking at a 3.2, but soon realised that for just a little more you get a huge leap in sophistication with the 964. So started the hunt for a good one. Having tried both manuals and tips, it soon became obvious to me that tip was the choice as I do a lot of town driving, but you also have the tip option when you want to play. I have had this car, my first Porsche, for 8 months now, and I have loved every minute. Only problems have been high battery drain due to alarms/immobiliser/etc resulting a flats a few times. Cured with a new battery.
