Accelerator Pedal Fix
The little linkage on the back of my accelerator pedal started popping out. The ball end of the link kept popping out when my shoe caught on the edge of the pedal. The cause was that the rubber was old and cracked. I tried cleaning and lubricating the socket, but that didn't help. So I fabricated a metal retainer that installed on the back of the pedal, with small self-tapping metal screws (there is a stamped metal support inside the black rubber). Note that the linkage must be taken apart to get the retainer on it. Also note that the hole in the retainer is slotted, to allow the linkage to rotate as the pedal is depressed.
