After much searching about,
I decided to install the FVD Motorsport Eibach/Bilstein combo for the 993,
together with the Porsche Motorsport RS swaybars. This was supplied by Schatz Motorsport who can be found at http://www.schatzmotorsport.com/index.html
thanks to Mike Schatz for guiding me.
My reasons for installing
were (1) car increasingly used for track days, around 20 days a year and (2)
for this purpose, the stock suspension was too undersprung/underdamped and
center of gravity too high for my liking. And the stock US ride height is just
offensive ……..
I haven’t had too much time
to explore the suspension yet – as I write, it’s snowing – so “at-the-limit”
behaviour will have to wait, but initial impressions are GOOD ! Obviously,
somewhat stiffer than stock – a lttle “jigglier” over broken surface at low
speed – but (pleasant surprise) actually improved ride quality at freeway
speed. I’ll attribute this to much
improved damping with the new Bilsteins. DEFINITELY, this suspension setup
could be used for an everyday driver.
Initial specs are:
Ride Height: Front 133mm,
Rear 116mm – this to the plates underneath the car, equates to about 25.5
inches or 650mm to fender lip
This ride height is a drop
of about 1 inch in the rear and 1.25 inches in the front from Stock US ride
height.

after.
