dan.statman@rennlist.com for more informationThe CK08 rings have a heart themed Celtic knot surface carving. This pattern was custom design done by Mia Cravin for her wedding bands. She graciously allowed me to keep the pattern and use ot for other people's rings. The design incorporates many aspects of philosophy, natural science, and human nature. I think Mia put it best when she described the elements of the design to me and I will quote her here:
...anyway, the symbolism is this: the heart, which is open as it must be for a good marriage - tied to the triangular form which represents body, mind and spirit (or soul) - the other three aspects of being... each open heart is enclosed in the alternate line's triangle - symbolising giving your heart over into the other's care. The four aspects all together stand for aristotle's four elements - really essences, later used to define the 'four humours' - sanguine, phlegmatic, melancholic and choleric - which in more modern times evolved into amognst other things the four learning models - doers, thinkers, feelers, watchers... the four primary jungian personality types, the four main meyers/briggs personality categories, the four fundamental forces. The upwards pointing triangles are the masculine symbols and the downwards pointing feminine - the hearts within are oriented with the triangle that encloses them, indicating that you gain strengths you don't have within yourself from the union with your spouse.
I certainly could not have said it better myself!
Price is $400 for any size and any anodized color.
There is an additional charge of $50 for black enamel, and $25 to anodize the inside of the ring to match the carving.
