Nothing drastic here. The car that I fell in love with as a 14 year old is the late 80's 911. So when I went looking for a car, I didn't want anything after 89, and the car I finally purchased was a 1987. Because of this, I didn't want to change the look of the car as far as body kit and such are concerned. The few small changes to the look of the exterior were specifically of track use. The wider wheels were added because I didn't like the idea of using large spacers on the track, and because I wanted more rear tire than a 225.

| This is the car shortly after I bought it (the date on the picture isn't accurate). It had 16" Carrera 2 wheels on it (6" up front and 7.5" in the rear). The wheels required spacers to make them fit. The suspension is stock, but the engine is a 3.4L :) |

| This is how the car looked after coming out of winter storage. While in storage (at my mechanic's heated garage), the wheels were replaced with 8x17 Fikse up front, and 9.5x17 in the rear. |
When I purchased the car, it already contained the front and rear spoilers. These were obviously added by some former owner as the rear wing is the Turbo version, not the Carrera one. The ride height of the car was stock, but the wheels were 16" Carrera 2 "Design 90" wheels made to fit with spacers. I didn't much care for the look of the wheels, and I wanted forged wheels instead of cast. I started looking for 16x7 and 16x9 Fuchs. These seemed to be a popular choice for early 911 owners, and thus proved to be hard to find, so I instead decided on 17" Fikse 3 piece wheels. Fikse suggested 8x17 for the front, and 9x17 for the rear, but my mechanic assured me that 9.5x17 would fit no problem in the rear even after the car is lowered to the euro ride height. He was correct. The new wheels and lowered stance give the car a much more purposeful stance, and it is a great combination on the track.
For tires, I decided to use widths that are slightly narrower than the wheel itself. By doing this, the tire sidewall has less flex built in, and thus maintains is shape better in cornering. The tires are Yokohamma A032Rs, measuring 225/45ZR17 up front and a 255/40ZR17 out back.
