Hi, my name is Dave Anderson and I'm a longtime resident of Sunnyvale/Mountain View California. I can be reached via PM on the rennlist forums, or at SharkLover@gmail.com Kick off your shoes, relax, and have fun! April 3, 2006: Several updates in this batch, including a "Garage-Mahal" section which only had the first page in it for some time. From now on the latest two sets of updates, whether the update involves adding text to an area that has long been without any or the page is entirely new, will be marked with an asterisk '*' for the most recent updates, and a dagger symbol '†' for the next most recent updates in the link text. I was going to make a list of changes but that would clutter up this page too much and would not help once a user clicks to another page. Since I first posted this site over two years ago, a lot has happened. Since then I've added 22 project pages, and added two new sections -- "928/Porsche Events" and the "Garage-Mahal", for a total of 41 pages added to the original site at this writing... and the feedback has been very encouraging. I first set up this page to chronicle my projects and learning experiences with this fine car, as a way to "give back" to the Rennlist.com community that has been so informative and helpful in all things relating to sharks. There are a ton of great writeups on procedures and projects by Rennlist people like John Pirtle, Greg Nichols, George Suennen(site is down, he's working on it), and Tony Harkin, and many many others that I have found over the last two years. Not intending to diminish in any way what these guys have done, most of their info is for later cars than mine(though there is a lot in common), and the Nichols site has just about no pictures. Sometimes a pic is worth a thousand words... especially when I was in the early stages of picking around, trying to figure out how things should look on the car, etc. So, I decided that I would document stuff for the '78 and other early cars. in hopes it could help someone down the road. I'm really glad so many have found this information useful, and thank you for all the nice comments. I'm definitely going to "Keep the OB Torch burning", as Brian G (IcemanG17 on RennList) likes to say. ![]() June 20, 2004: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() May 16, 2004: ![]() Feb 29, 2004: I decided in mid-January 2004 to create a website about my journey through my life's series of cars, at the time of this writing culminating in the purchase of a 1978 928 5 speed. Come on in and poke around a bit.... I've written about the development of my lust for fast, well-made cars, about the cars I've had in the past, and how I came to purchase my 928. I grew up in a family that didn't have a lot of money to throw around; I paid for my first car and many of the "toys" that I wanted as a young man with my own sweat & brains. I am a fifth-generation Californian, and have lived in the highly competetive Silicon Valley all of my life so far. I worked my way up through the ranks, doing many things.... AAA Tow driver and construction during college, and I've been doing Software/Process QA for most of the years between 1987 and the present. I've written a little about my other interests as well. For now, this site is very much in an "initial" stage, and I expect it to grow as I fill in the blanks and have more 928 experiences and info to add. This is probably the best page to bookmark, since I will ultimately be updating it to show the latest image of my car, changing it as I make changes to the car. ![]() If you do not see the links above and below, then you may have JavaScript turned off.
