Well, perhaps this will shed some light on the CAT no CAT emmissions 
discussion!! I think Somebody may have mentioned that a succesful CAT less 
emissions test is an URBAN MYTH….its an urban fact now : )  The 928 is a 
pretty clean car!!

Took the shark for the breathalyzer test today.  I went to one of the small 
stations located at a gas station  here in Vegas.  The test is the exhaust 
gas sniffer and was manned by dude in his early 20’s who had his 
lowered,limo tinted,melon shooter exhaust pick up truck parked near by. 
(more on him shortly) LOL

The quick and dirty is….MY CAR PASSED
The car…87s4…auto…stock fuel pressure regulator…air pump…RMB and 
CATBYPASSS!!!
The test included a visual inspection…a 2500rpm test…and and IDLE test.  The 
results are below.  I have included last years (CAT INSTALLED results for a 
comparison).

The visual test……..
Obviously,I think this was the key to me passing! The guy popped the 
hood,looked at the engine diagram,must have noted the CATALYST INSTALLED 
note…hooked up the TACH pickup and that was it!!  He never looked under the 
car!!!  I already had a story made up if he did.  I just came 
from the track..testing..yadda.. yadda…wanted it tested anyway….etc etc.  I 
never needed the story : )
The reason….. well, I was lucky in that this 20 yr old guy manning the 
station was a bit over weight and for him to get down on all 4’s to check 
for my CAT may have been a bit of a chore for him : )  He was a nice guy and 
I had already got him into “shmooooooze  mode” by getting him to talk about 
his truck LOL.  Anyway the short of it is…he never really did ANY visual 
inspection! TIP..next time you get smogged perhaps look for someone who 
isn't capable of looking under a 928 LOL

Those are the results off my print out…I hope the justification of the rows 
and columns is ok and it makes sense??  Any number in parenthesis is WITH 
THE CAT and was taken a year ago.

Next step is to 1)box up the cat and store it, just incase im not as lucky 
with the visual inspection next year.
2) remove the belt on my airpump.

Anyone “in the know” have any input to what they see as far as the 
results..ie running lean…....rich...bad CO... etc etc??
