One thing I can assure you is that if the work has not been done it needs to be. Our problems out here are more accentuated because of the ambient heat but the same things get them over there eventually. When I got my manifold off there was a big mes mess under there. The anti knocksensors had gone and I reckon the inlet manifiold was getting plenty of false air. Things have improved tremendously now although I stil think I can improve things. If you have the original spark leads and distributor cap/rotors change them as well [if you can afford]. The other bits that also go are the diaphragms in the three untis that control and dampen fuel pressure. If you are having a problem with hot starts that is almost certainly the cause of the problem. If you have an erratic tickover it could be a number of things including leaks. A thing to check is the throttle switch. This is located under the inlet manifold but you can check this by soime circuit checks with the computers disconnect under the front dash. Let me know what your symptoms are and I will give you an opinion if I have one. Do you have the manuals? Regards Fred R
