depends upon the year of the 928 --two wire sender early cars up to MY 1988
, 3 wires for late cars -- you might check to see if your two wires are
reversed ??? the 3 wire has an indexed plug only fits one way . The sending
unit has a variable resistance element and a contact switch . The contact
switch drives the warning light . Try disconnecting the wires first then and
try grounding both to see how the light responds and how the gauge reads .
