And it fails often anyways. Once the fluid is gone from the system, the piston in the headlights allows the unit to tilt. It is spring loaded, but not enough. Hitting bumps makes the headlights bounce up and down. There's a replacement part available for this: 928 631 201 02 support rod for headlight ..plastic .. The installation wasn't hard. ( cause I got the fenders off again.) For most people it will require taking off the fender liners, brake ducts, horns and such to gain access from below. Thinking about it, you could possibly do it from the top by removing the headlight proper with its cradle. The replacement fits right in where the piston is and attaches to the aiming ring the same way. The trick is that the piston, and replacement rod, is held in by a "twistlock" mechanism. The three tabs fit through three slots and a then a twist of the unit holds it in place. It is not a snap-through approach. Don't know the years of applicability of this. Glen '80 Euro S
