They are quite and almost dustless. And typically less expensive than the factory pads. Or if you want a more aggressive pad on the street, try the Portfield track pad (I forget the number) and use the factory vibration dampers your calipers are supposed to have. Most folks pull the dampers as they make changing pad a little less convenient, however, without them, under the right conditions, almost any pad can squeal. On my 968 w/Big Reds, the only pads that I have not been able to get quiet are the Pagid Blacks, which are a ceramic/metallic pad. Very aggressive and groove the bejesus out of the rotors. I have gotten the Pagid Orange and Hawk Blues to be about 90% quiet. All this just by using the dampers the factory designed exactly for this problem. Currently I have PF "Z's" up front and Pagid Black in the rear with a 45 bar rear brake pressure regulator. Works very well although if the Oranges weren't so expensive, I'd probably have them up front. For the track, Pagid Blacks on all 4 corners. Stops on a dime and gives you change back. Michael G.
