Oil Change - Differential
Items needed:
- 10mm hex key
- 3 liters SAE 90 gear oil per the
Owner's Manual and the
Tech Specs booklet.
You will need 3 quarts plus a little extra. (This oil is also used in the timing-belt
tensioner.)
- Oil drain/catch pan
- approximately 8 inches of small hose, ¼" diameter or larger
Procedure:
- Clean the area around the plugs.
- Remove the upper fill plug.
- Position the catch pan and remove the lower drain plug. (Smells nice doesn't it?!)
- Turn a wheel to help remove the oil.
- Replace and tighten the drain plug.
- Fit a small length of hose to the oil container and position it above the
exhaust pipe. Squeeze the container to force the oil in. Fill the differential until
the oil is up to the fill plug.
- Replace and tighten the fill plug.
