Caster Mount Blocks for the 944 and 968

Failures of the caster mount blocks are not unknown, either in the 944 or the 968, due to the lateral forces exercised by the wheel on the mount.  The original parts had a lot of rubber in them (as can be seen in the pictures below) and at times the rubber will develop cracks or partially separate from the mount's housing.

Porsche offers a new part, PN 951.341.023.01, which takes care of the problem and supercedes both the PN 951.341.023.00 part (non M030 cars) and the PN 951.341.023.30 part (for the M030/M758 cars).  Additionally, this part is mandatory per Porsche for fitting 17" wheels to a 944 or a 968 (PCNA Technical Bulletin, Group 4, Number 9303, dated 28 September 1993).  Porsche's technical bulletin also mandates updated bolts (900-910-115-02) which clamp the mount onto the car much better due to their construction and a new caster eccentric bolt.  The new eccentric bolt  looks very similar to the old part, but the grade of the material is possibly much higher.
