Using R134A Aircon Recharge

Porsche began using R134a in MY1993. Porsche foresaw the eventual movement of the industry to the more environmentally-friendly R134A refridgerant. With minor modifications, a pre-1993 964 can use R134a with no problems. There is debate, however, whether R134a works as well as R12.
