93 Jeep Cherokee SPORT, 2 door 5 spd.

Purchased July of 1999 with 113,000 miles on the odometer.  First thing I had to do was make a shift knob.  I found a golf ball with a nice hula girl graphic.  Works great.  5" lift is largely Rubicon Express based, but the rear leafs are Bigoffroad 4.5" 6 leaf packs.  And yes, I installed the lift myself.  Literally.  MJ Dana 44 rear,  Tom Woods SYE and custom rear drive shaft, 4.11 gears and ARB lockers front and rear, JKS sway bar disconnects, MOOG ZJ tie rod and ends, MOOG drag link, stainless steel YJ extended brake lines, M.O.R.E. poly motor mounts, front and rear Tomken bumpers, spare tire/gerry can mount, and XJ Armor rock rails.  Corbeau GTS II seats.  After adding another 17,000 miles, it's still running strong.  Current picture.
Future additions include Warn winch on removable tray, a skid plate here and there some fender and flare trimming, and maybe a Teraflex 4:1 kit.  At some point I will install some lift shackles or Revolvers as soon as my BOR 4.5 Leaf packs settle a bit.

Check out this pic.   That's my Jeep in the rearview mirror on a run up Twin Cone last September, 2000 with my wife Sharon, John John, his wife Nicole and son Jacob.

XJ News.  Latest first.

BTW- The Photopoint failure totally screwed a lot of my links.  One of these days I'll get that fixed.

April 15th, 2001 I installed a set of Corbeau GTS II seats.  These things are sweet!

March 30th, 2001  MOAB!  What a great time.

March 15, 2001  Only made sense to replace the drag link and tie rod end at the pitman arm with a MOOG unit also.  I used the MOOG XJ unit.  The link and end are the same size as the ZJ tie rod and ends.  MOOG part numbers:  Drag Link DS1238 - $91.76, tie rod ES3096L - 34.04 + tax.  I also installed new Jeep XJ front upper control arm bushings.  Chrysler finally realized apparently that their bushing design sucked.  The new ones have a smaller inner metal sleeve ID, rather than a large hole with 3 raised nubs at each end.  These pictures are of the old style bushing.  See the nubs?  Those were eliminated in the new units and the ID was just made smaller instead of using the nubs to take up the slack.  The new units eliminated my RE UCA clicking.  Check it out.

March 1st, 2001  MOOG V8 ZJ tie rod, sleeve and end.  Solid rod.  Beefy.  Purchased from CarQuest for $127.83  MOOG part numbers:  Rod DS1312 - $59.02, tie rod ES3096L - 34.04, sleeve ES2079S - 25.47 + tax.

February, 2001  Finally installed the MORE mounts and front/rear 4.11 gears, ARB lockers and 33x10.5 BFG T/A's.  Need to do some fender and flare trimming to stuff the 33's.

December 30th, 2000  Dana 44 install.  Quick (stupid actually, but it's the only one we took) little mpeg.  It's on the road again.

October, 2000  Bill Moore Lake with family friends Bridget, and Oliver who was here from Germany on holiday.

September 16th, 2000  End of Summer Party at Grant's.  Quite a few people showed up.  IIRC, there were something like 20+ XJs there.

September 9th, 2000  Slaughterhouse Gulch with Seth just before his house warming party.

September 3rd, 1000  Chinaman's Gulch with the fam, John John, Seth and Holly.  I do have a cool mpeg of myself (courtesy of John John) climbing that wall.

September 2nd, 2000 Spring Creek with Seth and Holly and the fam.
