My 928's
Ever since I was little guy I have always wanted a Porsche 928. Back when I was 10 or so I remember having posters of the 928 S4 and the 944 Turbo plastered all over my room, now I’m lucky enough to have them in my garage!
The 928 is a completely different animal when compared to the 944 turbo. First of all the 928 is a car made for high speed cruising which it does beautifully. Taking long drives in the Turbo can get tiresome and you start to feel fatigued after about 4-5 hours of driving where as in the 928 it feels like you just hoped in the car.
The 928 has a lot of low in torque that really puts in you in the seat when you nail the throttle at say 60mph on the highway. As you can tell this car doesn’t start to shine until you are about 60mph or faster. On the highway cruising at 100mph+ is effortless and is really remarkable. The road handling of the car is very good and the car makes you feel confident when taking fast corners. Below are a few pictures of my current 928’s. The black 928 is my garage queen and gets driven every single weekend during the summer, while my cassirot (aka pink one) 928 is going to be my daily driver during the nice summer months. I’m currently doing a huge amount of maintenance (check out 928 maintenance page) on the cassirot 928 and its currently down but I hope to have her back on the road for spring of 2010. When it comes to maintenance I’m one of those people that take the “WYIT” (while your in there) a little to seriously. In other words when I’m done with the cassirot 928 I honestly do not know what else you can possible replace!?
A beautiful day out so I got the cars lined up in the back yard. Red 928 is my Dad's that we are restoring.
One of the main reasons I bought Cassirot was because of this rare color combo on the interior and exterior. I love the color combo and it really makes the car shine in my opinion. I'm a huge Miami Vice fan and this car definitely belongs in Miami!
Engine has changed since this picture. When I was re-doing the intake I had alot of the parts powder coated to make her shine again. Another WYIT type of thing!
This is beautiful example of a 1987 928 S4. This is the cleanest 928S4 that I have ever seen. I bought the car with 40k miles on it. Car is a time capsule from the 80s.
