This tool is for adjusting the overall mixture in the MFI fuel injection pump.
One end has a 3/16" hex (Allen) braised onto a 5/32" steel rod (music wire).
I ground a slot screwdriver tip into the other end. I didn't show the middle of the tool...it's
REALLY boring! The total tool is 12.5" long. In use, the hex cap bolt in
the pump body is removed and the slotted end inserted and slowly rotated
until the tip falls into a slotted adjuster. Don't use much force when pushing the tool in
...it's not needed and can damage the pump. After engaging the tool, use a 3/16" nutdriver
to rotate the tool and adjust the mixture. Turn to the left (CCW) to make it richer. The other way is lean...
Note that the other MFI adjustment screw (the one for adjusting the idle mixture) turns right (CW) to richen the engine. |
