This is a view of my seat project. I took the stock seat on the left to a Gary's Upholstery in Oak Harbor. Than I had him remove the vinyl centerpieces and replace it with blue airplane seat upholstery with the Porsche Crest sewed in the center. In real life it looks better. |
This is a view of my 916 Engine Grille project. This type of grille from AA cost about $375.00 w/o shipping. I thought I could make it myself for cheaper. So at the Washington To-gether in Olympia I bought this stock engine lid for $25.00. I bought another screen for $10.00. I had the modified engine lid and the two screens bead blasted and painted for $80.00. So the total $125.00. So I saved 75% of the cost from AA. What I did is: 1) I took the front screen off than layed it on the metal piece. 2) I traced the screen and added a half-inch, which was bent down. 3) I went to the local hardware store and bought a metal cutting hole saw (1 1/4"). This was to cut the holes in the engine lid supports. 4) Took it to the local Auto Body Shop for bead blasting and painting. 5) Brought it home and put it together with a few pop rivets. |
This is a view of the finished 916 Engine Lid Grille. I plan to get the Porsche letters and 914-6 emblems to put on the engine lid. I will be using this engine lid for the summer driving and the original one for winter driving. Here in Washington state it gets pretty wet. |
