What's It Weigh?

The following linked pages were created during my tenure as webmaster for the Early 911S Registry. "What's It Weigh" is the article written by Early 911S Registry member, Jim Calzia. It originally appeared in the May, 2001 edition of Excellence Magazine. During the building phase of his track car, Calzia accurately weighed and documented each component he removed and/or upgraded. Excellence Magazine did not include the weight data in the printed article. However, Mr Calzia subsequently sent the complete article to the Early 911S Registry as it was written and submitted to the magazine.

Calzia's data represents one of the first thorough compilations of component weights for an early 911. It has since been a source of reference by many owners to determine the most effective way to reduce vehicle weight and improve vehicle performance.
