Difficulty -

This an easy afternoon project that can be done anytime you have to take the wheels off your car. The paint I used for this project was red Hi-Temperature Spray enamel - the type that is used for engine blocks. It is rated for 500 degrees, but I have used it in areas that got considerably hotter than that with no discoloration.

The finished looks add a nice detail to your car and No they're not Big Reds, but you didn't spend the big bucks for them either.

Using newspaper, mask off the surrounding hardware and tape over the opening to the brake pads so that Paint will not get down inside the brake itself. I started out with a dusting coat to give a good base for the paint to build up on.

After the initial coat, I applied three more coats allowing complete drying of the coats in between. I also used a heat gun to add a little heat to the drying process. This appeared to give each coat a high gloss effect as well. ( The sharp ones will note these are not the same rotor in all of the pictures)

This is just way too easy ! Pull off the newspaper, stand back and admire your work. I cleaned up the brake lines and gave them a coat of aluminum colored paint too.

Remount your wheel and you'll see that this gives just a little more detail to your car.

Life's too short for ugly brakes . This is an easy project that adds a little color to your wheel area.
